Meet Tricia
Tricia gently supports individuals through emotional struggles, helping them rediscover their own strength and reconnect with a sense of empowerment.
About Tricia
Tricia is a qualified and experienced counsellor and psychotherapist who specialises in supporting people experiencing anxiety, emotional overwhelm, and the lasting effects of difficult or distressing life experiences.
She offers a calm, supportive space where you can begin to make sense of what you’re feeling, at a pace that feels safe and manageable for you. Her approach is gentle, non-judgemental, and grounded in helping you feel heard and understood.
Her aim is to support you in reconnecting with your own inner strength, so you can move towards feeling more settled, confident, and in control of your life again.
Her Approach
Tricia works integratively, drawing on counselling alongside mindfulness-based approaches to support anxiety on both an emotional and physical level.
She understands that anxiety is not only something we think about, but something we often feel in the body — through tension, restlessness, overwhelm, or a sense of being constantly “on edge”.
Alongside talking therapy, she may gently introduce simple grounding and calming techniques to help you feel more present, regulated, and able to cope with day-to-day challenges. These approaches are always offered in collaboration with you, and only where they feel helpful.
Experience
With over 25 years’ experience in mental health, Tricia has supported people living with a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties, including anxiety disorders, trauma, severe mental health conditions, and substance misuse. She has also volunteered on helplines, offering immediate emotional support to people in crisis and during some of life’s most difficult moments.
Tricia is currently a commissioned counsellor for Victim Support’s Bereavement by Homicide service, working with individuals affected by complex trauma. She also works with a local charity providing low-cost counselling.
A Personal Understanding
Tricia’s work is informed not only by her professional experience, but also by her own journey through therapy.
After a difficult childhood, she sought therapy herself. While talking about her experiences brought understanding, she found that lasting change came when she began working in ways that helped her feel more grounded, regulated, and connected to herself.
This lived experience shapes her approach today — creating a therapeutic space that supports both emotional insight and deeper, embodied healing, particularly for anxiety and trauma-related difficulties.
