About me

 â€‹

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Applied Psychology: this training gave me a very good insight into human behaviour and how we can improve wellbeing.

  •  Advanced Diploma in Counselling: I trained as an Integrative Counsellor, this means I can adapt the way I work to each individual client, using tools from a variety of Counselling theories.

  • Mental Health First Aid, MHFA England: this training gave me the knowledge, confidence and practical skills to support someone who may be experiencing a mental health issue or emotional distress.

  • Understanding Trauma, The Centre for Healing: Covered topics such as how childhood trauma shapes our lives, what happens in the brain during a catastrophic event, being stuck in flight/flight/freeze and how to regulate our nervous system.

  • Putting Polyvagal Theory into Practice. Essential Strategies for Creating Safety and Connection with Trauma Clients: when someone has experienced trauma or is suffering from anxiety, depression and other mental health conditions, a dysregulated nervous system is often at the heart of the issue. If we do not feel safe in our own bodies, we cannot access the parts of ourselves we need for deep healing to take place. Polyvagal theory provides us with the science-based, practice-proven roadmap that has helped thousands manage and rewire their nervous system so that they can quickly move from states of fear and disconnectedness to states of calm and connection.

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Diploma:  I have undertaken additional training in the area of anxiety disorders and CBT. â€‹â€‹
